Dortmund, 19 February 2024 – Dortmund is once again set to be the venue for innovative topics of future importance this September as the new IN2AI trade show opens its doors at Messe Dortmund for the very first time on 4 and 5 September 2024. IN2AI will present the latest developments and solutions in the field of application-led artificial intelligence in the industrial application and logistics segments, bringing together experts and solution providers from all over Europe.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has revolutionised the way businesses go about optimising processes in production and logistics. IN2AI will provide a forum where experts and businesses in production and logistics can experience innovative technologies, products and services that boost efficiency as well as driving sustainable solutions. The show will bring together exhibitors from the fields of AI development, logistics solutions, software development, robotics, automation, big data and many more. This will all go to provide a comprehensive insight into the possibilities offered by application-led AI in production and logistics.
Complementing the extensive trade exhibition will be the IN2AI supporting programme whose highlights will include use-case keynote talks, expert panels and interviews. These will be dedicated to the current and future challenges associated with AI in production and logistics and will give visitors the opportunity to gain valuable insights from industry experts and discover more on the latest trends and technologies as well as projects that have already been implemented.
“Our mission is to help businesses and institutions exploit the benefits of industrial AI right now. IN2AI will provide a platform for experiencing innovations in these areas and for initiating joint projects. We're convinced that using artificial intelligence is going to be a big help in boosting efficiency and embedding sustainable solutions in such a way as to safeguard business competitiveness over the long term, even by international standards,” said Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue.
The core areas of the show will include industrial AI, automation, robotics, big data analysis, IoT applications, logistics optimisation and more besides. IN2AI will give visitors the opportunity to experience the latest developments in these areas at first hand.
Given the rapid pace of development in AI, the Chief Executive of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), Prof Dr Michael ten Hompel, emphasises the importance of this technology for the future of industry and logistics: “Digitalisation of everything and artificial intelligence in everything is going to change everything for every one of us! This is particularly true of industrial AI and our supply chains and production networks. As part of Dortmund's vibrant research and industrial landscape, home to leading institutions such as the Fraunhofer IML and the Lamarr Institute, we are at the forefront of this revolution. IN2AI is emphasising this role as a catalyst for the use of application-oriented AI in industry and logistics, which is now more relevant than ever for businesses in our region. We are therefore especially looking forward to this show as it offers further opportunities as a forum for bringing the world of research and development of practical AI solutions closer to businesses, establishing Dortmund further as the leading location for AI research in Germany.”
As we stand on the cusp of a new era in production and logistics, Dr Stefan Michaelis, Managing Director of the Lamarr Institute in Dortmund, emphasises the crucial role of artificial intelligence: “In a time when digitalisation is permeating all areas of our lives, the introduction of artificial intelligence in production and logistics is not just unavoidable, it's also crucial for making and keeping businesses competitive. Here in Dortmund, somewhere that’s recognised as the 'Innovation Capital of Europe', collaboration between the Lamarr Institute and leading businesses is already presenting a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven industry. Our city, with the University of Applied Sciences as the coordinating university of the institute, is predestined to lead this change, aided by cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary dialogue. That's why I'm particularly looking forward to the new IN2AI show at Messe Dortmund, as it emphasises this aspiration and is also ideally located here."
